Only one natural hybrid of Nepenthes rigidifolia—with N. spectabilis—is known, found on a single rocky outcrop. As of 2007, it may outnumber N. rigidifolia at the type locality.
The hybrid has narrower, infundibular pitchers with a distinct hip, broader than N. spectabilis, featuring an expanded peristome and shorter spur. Charles Clarke noted it combines the best traits of both parents, producing large, vividly colored pitchers. Though its lower pitchers resemble N. macfarlanei, the latter is restricted to Peninsular Malaysia, avoiding confusion.
