Aldrovanda

Aldrovanda, commonly known as the waterwheel plant, is a fascinating genus of carnivorous aquatic plants, with only one living species: Aldrovanda vesiculosa. This rootless, free-floating plant inhabits nutrient-poor, acidic waters across parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. It features delicate, whorled leaves arranged along a slender stem, each ending in a snap-trap mechanism remarkably similar to that of the Venus flytrap
