Drosera macrantha, commonly known as the bridal rainbow, is a scrambling or climbing tuberous perennial carnivorous plant endemic to southwestern Western Australia. It thrives in diverse habitats, including winter-wet depressions with sandy, loamy, lateritic, or quartzite soils.
The plant features long, slender stems that can reach up to 1.5 meters in height, adorned with small, cup-shaped carnivorous leaves that trap insects. Its flowers, typically white or pink and about 2.5 cm in diameter, bloom from June to November, with earlier flowering in northern populations.
D. macrantha is summer dormant, re-emerging during cooler months, and prefers sunny conditions with wet soil. The species is highly variable and part of a complex that includes several closely related taxa, some of which have been reclassified over time.
Available 1st November to 15th March.
Price is for a dormant Tuber.
